Geoffrey Hay measured and drew this vignette. His Heath Robinson figures invest a sense of humour as well as a clear explanation of how these places functioned. While this particular kipper house has I think vanished there are a few left such as one in the Wick Society's own visitor centre. Pulteneytown Townscape Heritage Initiative has recently reinvigorated the area with modern art as well as the odd conserved building.
